More tracking this Monday

We’re looking forward to our regular Monday night in the Lair. More vocals and guitars to record and maybe some sweet harmonica too.

Delta Blues show is coming up soon and we want to have a big crowd so tell everyone to get there early to eat and get a good spot for the show.

A Day In The Studio

Yesterday was a great day in the studio for Benny and me. We finished a song we started a while back with Matt Smile at Auioasis in Bristol VA. Some tasty cello and we should have it done. Three or four more songs still need to be tracked but the album is taking shape nicely. We can’t wait for you to hear what we have been up to lately.

Rest in peace headphone amp.

All good gear comes to an end. Our loyal recording friend the headphone amp has died. Our best laid plans for tracking vocals yesterday came to a halt just short of completing a track. Another will take it’s place tomorrow and we will roll on but we’d like to thank our headphone amp for it’s years of service.

On a happier note we’ll be writing with Matt Smile again soon and we are excited to see what happens with that. Make all the plans you want. Let me know how that works out for you.

peace out

More recording and songwriting

There is a balance between writing and recording songs. When we get a batch written we then have to decide what to record. While we are in the recording process songs don’t stop coming. This complicates the recording process as some of the new songs are better than ones we have selected previously. Our goal is to put forward the best songs we have at the time for recording so the balancing act continues.

Too many songs on hand is a great problem to have and we feel blessed to be able to be selective with what makes the record. Our next trip to Audioasis will cement which songs make the cut.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all of you. It’s Monday and that means music being created in the Lair. Tonight we’ll be doing overdubs on vocals and guitars for the upcoming album.

The show at Bellamy’s Hardware was a great time for us. Thanks so much to Johnny and Theresa for having us back. We’re going to try another one in April. If you have never been there you should see this place. One side is full of old hardware items and collections of glassware. The other side is a music venue with a unique sound because of the wooden walls and floors. The audience usually hears bluegrass music but they were so nice to us as well.

So it’s off to work on the new album…… we’ll keep you posted!

Show at Bellamy’s tonight.

Today is the second to the last day of 2022 and a good day to start blogging. Lots of news in the Q and B camp lately. Tonight is our last show of 2022 at Bellamy’s Hardware in Surgoinsville TN. What a great way to end the year for us.

We’re currently working on our next full album project with Matt Smile from Audioasis in Bristol VA. Tshirts are now available at shows and on this site. The two videos {Hang It On The Wall and Have A Little Faith} have had over 65000 views so far and we are very thankful to you for making that happen.

We are booking “house” concerts this year as well. These are a lot of fun for groups of 12 to 30 or so and we love doing them. Call for dates and prices.

2023 is starting with a bang for Q and B with an album release this spring and new videos in the planning stages. Stay tuned and I’ll try to update this page often with all the news that is news.

peace out
